DebtBlue: Debt Relief Loans

First Things First!

Remember – if I post a copy of any direct mail piece you email to e[email protected], I will send you $50. I am looking for direct mail offers with suspiciously low-interest rates. Just remember – I have to post the exact image you send me and I can only pay out the $50 to the first person who sends me a copy. I want to thank all of those who have been emailing me to keep the $50 and just continue with my good work.

Is DebtBlue a legitimate company? You probably received a mailer with a personalized reservation code offering you a pre-approved loan with a below 5% interest rate to consolidate your credit card and other high-interest debt.

Is it Legit or a Scam?

DebtBlue is another bait and switch.

They lure you in by sending you direct mail with a “personalized reservation code” and a low 4%-5% interest rate to consolidate your high-interest credit card debt. DebtBlue doesn’t tell you that you need excellent credit to qualify for a loan with that low-interest rate (which you have been supposedly pre-approved for).

Crixeo.com awarded DebtBlue a 1-star rating (data collected and updated as of October 7, 2020). We hope the information below will help you make an educated decision on whether to do business with DebtBlue.

  • DebtBlue is not a lender.
  • The fine print at the bottom of the DebtBlue website states, “You received this offer because you met certain criteria for creditworthiness. Although DebtBlue is not a lender and does not engage in the business of lending, we have working relationships and contacts with a network of independent lenders (“Lenders”) who may be able to provide you with credit.
  • It appears that DebtBlue is operating a typical bait and switch scheme. They lure you in by sending you direct mail with a “personalized reservation code” and a low 2.5%-4.5% interest rate to consolidate your high-interest credit card debt.
  • It isn’t too evident that you need excellent credit to qualify for a loan with that low 2.92% interest rate (which you have been supposedly pre-approved for).

BBB Complaint – 07/20/2020

False advertising. The letter I received makes it look like I owe Debt Blue money, which is false. I received a deceiving letter today saying ***Response Required*** and making it sound like I owe DebtBlue money. This is false advertising. Their marketing is deceiving and manipulative.

BBB Complaint – 06/17/2020

DebtBlue very unprofessional when trying to cancel and speak to customers very rudely. I called on Friday, 6/5/2020 and spoke with Tony ********** who is a new account specialist. We spoke and discussed a payment to be set up and was very nice and informative. At the end of the call, I spoke with Sandy who explained to me that my credit score was going to be effected and I may get a 1099 form for IRS. This left me uneasy and I called back on Monday to cancel. I could not get a hold of anyone and left numerous messages. Sandy called me Tuesday, 6/9/2020 to welcome me to the program and then I told her I did not want to go through and needed to cancel. She let me know that Tony was not in that day and would let him know so he could explain the process of canceling. I never got a call back from Tony or anyone. I called everyday and left messages with my number for them to call back. Finally on Monday, 6/15/2020 a new representative answered when I called from my office number. I explained to Derek my situation and his response was, “That since I tried to cancel, I was not a priority to the company. There priorities were clients that need help with loan process.” I was in disbelief of what he was saying and he repeated that same comment several times. I was asking for paper or statement to have confirmation of cancellation. He then reassured me that on his end it was canceled as he was looking at his computer. I asked again for an email or paper statement to have proof that it was and he said, “No, we can not provide you that or a copy of the confirmation of cancellation.” I asked to speak with a supervisor and he told me that is not going to be possible, they are all in meetings. He said he would note it on the file and ask someone to call me and I have yet to receive a call from anyone. I called later and finally was able to speak with Tony and asked the same question about getting a cancellation confirmation on the paperwork we signed and he said can not provide me with that and I would have to get in touch with Customer Service. Even though he claimed to be be account agent and said if there was anything I needed to call him because he was Here for me. I called yesterday 6/15/2020 about 15 times to the Customer service number and no one answered. I am disappointed and aggravated that these so called professionals and A+ rated representatives can not even return a call or provide the answers I needed. It is disturbing that they are comfortable telling customers who cancel they are no longer a priority and treat them as if they mean nothing. This is unacceptable and I will not recommend anyone to them or do business with them.

Trustpilot Complaint – Shamika Walker- 11/09/2020

I will not consider this to be a good debt program or company! I have been paying these people five months with almost 500 a month! N no progress! Only time i will get a email is when its time for them to take out their money from my account, this is frustrating!! This is stressing me out. My credit limit on other accounts lowered, cant borrow money, need i say credit score has dropped tremendously! Like, i don’t know what to do i want to opt out but because i hasn’t payed these bills n four to five months late fees n all that has made my balance on the cards increase. Aint no-one working with debt blue got the conscience to call me about my account! Y’all need to do better. Anyone have any advice?

The payment was deducted from my bank account even after a cancellation notice was emailed to the company.
