Regain makes professional counseling available anytime, anywhere, on any device

Two users share a joint account where they communicate with the counselor together. All written communication is visible to both users and the counselor. If either partner would like to speak with the counselor privately, an individual live session can be scheduled.

Members can receive support and guidance on issues ranging from relationship challenges, conflict, marital issues, overcoming adultery, intimacy issues, communication within a relationship, preventing and guidance with separation or divorce.

Sessions available

Once you have been assigned a counselor, you will be assigned a dedicated “room,” which is a secure place where either of the partners, or both, if you choose to try counseling together, can communicate with the assigned counselor via unlimited messages (“sessions”).

This “room” is open 24/7 and you can access it anytime from any device connected to the internet and write about yourself, relationship troubles, your thoughts, current relationship dynamics, ask questions and discuss everything and anything that bothers you. Your counselor will login to the same room, read your messages, and respond with feedback, insights, and guidance.

Your counselor will help you learn about the issues that hold you back and provide the tools to help you move forward. This ongoing one-on-one dialog is the basis of your work with your counselor. The dialogue is largely between all three of you: you, your partner, and your counselor. Phone and video sessions can also be scheduled ahead of time and can be attended either by one of the partners or both at the same time.

What’s Unique About ReGain?

ReGain is a dedicated relationships platform. While many online therapy services cater to multiple areas of therapy and employ more of a “one-size-fits-all approach”, ReGain has tailored its service to focus on relationship dynamics.

Relationship therapy is the specialty of all ReGain therapists, and the service is carefully designed to cater to couples. There is a focus on accessibility for two people, and working through the complexities of a relationship, rather than the needs of one person.

Pricing & Fees

The cost of Regain counseling services range from $40 to $70 per week, depending on the plan you choose, and includes unlimited “sessions” with optional phone and video sessions. The charges are billed monthly, depending on the length of the subscription that you choose – so the package is cheaper if you commit to a longer subscription.

You can cancel your membership at any time for any reason. This is quick and easy to do through the website.

Confidentiality and Privacy

When you sign up to ReGain you will not be asked for your full name or contact information. You may pick any “nickname” which will identify you in the system.

ReGain has strict confidentiality and privacy safeguards, going above and beyond what is legally required to keep your information safe. All the messages between you and your counselor are secured and encrypted by banking-grade 256-bit encryption and all databases are encrypted and scrambled so as to become useless in the highly unlikely event of being hacked.

There is also a “Shred Button” next to all of your messages, so you can permanently delete any information shared.

Access to the app require the use of a pin code, so even if someone has access to your phone, they will not be able to access your secure messages without entering the code

When you decide to start the counseling process, ReGain will request emergency contact information which is kept safe in the system but can be accessed by your counselor if he or she believes that you or someone else might be in danger.

Counselor Qualifications

Counselors at Regain are all licensed, trained, experienced, and accredited psychologists (Ph.D. / PsyD), licensed marriage and family therapists (LMFT) licensed clinical social workers (LCSW) or licensed professional counselors (LPC or LPCC).

All of them hold a Masters Degree or a Doctoral Degree in their field and are certified by their state’s professional board after successfully completing all necessary education, exams, training and practice. While individual counselor’s experiences, expertise and background may vary, they all have a minimum of 3 years and 2,000 hours of hands-on experience.

Specialties and Areas of Expertise

Regain specializes in relationship counseling, couples therapy, marriage guidance, separation and divorce healing, overcoming adultery and breach of trust, and any other relationship challenges

Founded in 2016, Regain has enjoyed a good reputation and has helped couples throughout the US try out couples’ counseling at a very affordable rate.

Other Good-To-Knows

Regain’s main competitor in the space of online relationship counseling is TalkSpace. Comparing Regain vs Talkspace, we see that both platforms employ a similar approach of assigning virtual rooms, where partners can each write to the therapist at their convenience. Regain however offers a more competitive rate from $40 to $70 per week, billed monthly depending on the length of commitment, vs Talkspace at $89 per week (billed $1,068 every three months) or $99/week (billed at $396 per month).

Talkspace is also an online therapy platform that includes couples therapy in its services, whereas Regain is solely focused on relationship therapy, which is important to note for those who want to assure that their therapist is specialized in couple’s counseling.

Regain Review

The ReGain focus on relationship counseling sets it apart from other online therapy services. It’s pricing is competitive and affordable, and its counselors are highly-trained. So all-in-all, it’s a great way to give couples therapy a go.

The Sign-up process is a breeze, so you can get started right away. You can then communicate with your counselor at any time through online messaging and set up your phone and video sessions. The frequency and length of these sessions are flexible and decided between you and your therapist.

You can use this service for a short period, moving on to a different therapist, a different service, or canceling altogether without difficulty. But you have an option of building a long-term relationship with your therapist, and keep seeing him/her indefinitely, if you wish.
